A Good Story #1

I LOVE a good story. My mom and I always swapped stories growing up, and still do today. I LOVE IT. My dad was always the one who could make your ribs hurt from laughing so hard from his stories! I continue to love having myself a good story or a good laugh whatever it may be. I feel like my blog reflects my family and mostly my kids. I need a place where I can document all the things that make me laugh and not worry that it might be in a journal in my house someday.

So Yesterday. I am walking the halls with #2 who is sleeping. I am wearing these little girls.

They are fantastic! I love them but I am not a great walker and have to concentrate when wearing heals I have other friends like Aubree who was born with 4 1/2 inch heals connected to her feet and that's all she wears and I know she NEVER loses her balance... ever! For me it doesn't come as naturally but I LOVE wearing them. I am almost all the way to the foyer in the church and I try and do kind of a pivot to go back the other way and totally lose my balance and start to fall. It happened in slow motion really, I lose my footing start to fall and try not to lose #2 who is sound asleep in my arms. My skirt flies up touching my stomach as I continue to fall and I use one of my arms to break my fall. There are 3 people in the hallway who witness this glorious event.

-A sister in the Relief Society Presidency

-The first counselor for the Bishopric

-An the Bishop form the ward before us

(sweet)

I am SO embarrassed since the two men are the ones who witnessed the great bend in 2010! (that is what we are calling my skirt not staying down)

My favorite part is that the sister in the RS RUNS over to me and says,

Sister in RS:"Oh my gosh! Are you OK? Did you fall asleep?!?!"

Me: "Um no, I just lost my footing and fell, I am really embarrassed"

Sister: "Are you sure you didn't fall asleep? That use to happen to me all the time when I would walk around with my newborns, you are just so tired, ya know?"

(what?!? 'Did I fall asleep', is that how graceful i must have looked. No, in fact I did not fall asleep but thank you for that)

Bishopric Member: "Sister, are you OK? Do I need to talk to your husband about this later and give him a hard time?"

Me: "No, It's okay, just a little embarrassed"

(And my ankle is THROBBING, NOT sure I can walk)

Me:"Yep I am totally fine"

(Why are you going to give my husband a hard time exactly? Because he married a klutz?" He knew that when he "sealed" the deal LOL, no pun intended.)

So I laughed all the way to young women's told one of my girls all about it and I will NEVER look at this bishopric member the same way again, would you? If you knew he has seen your slip and your G's? I don't think so.

Good Story.

  5. Laughing with you! I did almost the same thing walking into church a few weeks ago. Luckily I was not holding Joel, but I did slam my elbow pretty hard. Heels and I do not get along too well!
